State Higher Vocational School is the only one public university in the area offering free full time studies equipped with very good didactic base which systematically enriches its educational offer. The university conducts technical, economic, medical and human sciences studies.

Since 2013 our University has been focused mainly on practical profile of education rather than the mostly theoretical approach. This practical approach aims at providing the students with skills and knowledge highly sought for by modern labor market employers. State Higher Vocational School in Ciechanów might be described best as modern, creative and open university which coincides with the priorities outlined by the European Higher Education and Sciences Committee. We are innovative university focused on interdisciplinary education and individual approach to student and their needs. Our university equips its graduates with both practical and theoretical knowledge and all the essential skills giving them a great chance to start a fulfilling career shaping their social attitude. It is also The university which teams of economic educators and practitioners undertake and solve a number of issues not only didactic but research oriented and economic as well, thereby contributing to development of science and economy. Very well developed system of scholarships and grants allows the learning and participation in full classes to students less affluent. In 2016/2017 academic year social scholarships ranged from 450 – 700 polish zloty. Rector Scholarship for best students – 850 pln.

Ciechanów is a district town (around 47 300 citizens) located next to the river Łydynia, around 100 kilometres from Warsaw next to the railway which connects the capital with Gdańsk and Olsztyn cities.
According to some archeological research, Farska Mountain was the place where Ciechan - the founder of the city, bought first shelter - that is why the city is called Ciechanów, moreover there is statue commemorating his work.
In the end of X century, the settlement has been incorporated into Piasts Monarchy. Ciechanów was attacked many times by Prusy, Jacwingowie, Lithuanians and Teutonic knights, but it didn’t stop its development. Moreover, XV century was the time of glory under the domination of Kazimierz I, and Siemowit III. Then, in 1526, Ciechanów was incorporated into Queen Bona Kingdom and reached the population of 5 000 citizens. Unfortunately, many attacks and wars as well as Swedish Deluge had terrible impact on citizens and town life.
The biggest attraction of the city as well one of the most interesting Gothic objects in Poland is Mazovian Prince Castle, built at the beginning of XV century on the right coast of Łydynia river.
These days, we can admire the ruins and well the tower with coat of arms: the city protector - Saint Peter, Mazovian region symbol - eagle and the snake - Queen Bona national symbol. There are also exhibitions in museum and the bailey was the place of duel between Zbyszko from Bogdaniec and Knight Rotgier - this famous scene was described by Henryk Sienkiewicz in „Krzyżacy”. Tourists attention is also attracted by neo gothic City Hall from 1844 designed by talented architect Henryk Marconi (currently, the city council residence). It is worth to see brewery Ciechanów established in 1864, which beer is very popular all over the world and awarded in many contests (Ciechan Beczkowe,Miodowe, Wyborne). We also organize International Folklor Meetings „Kupalnocka” (June) and International Theatre Meetings „Dionizje” (May).
