School of International Relations and Diplomacy

The School of International Relations and Diplomacy is the youngest but fastest growing school within the structure of AAU. It opened its first accredited program for a Master's in International Relations and Diplomacy in Fall 2006 and has offered a Bachelor's Program in International Relations from 2007. The Masters Programs were recently re-accredited by the Ministry of Education till 2015.

The Bachelor's Program in International Relations is a multi-disciplinary program spread over 3 years that requires students to focus on understanding of global issues and world cultures, and traces the political, social, ideological and economic history of the world. The Master's Program in International Relations and Diplomacy covers the areas of international relations, international economy, International law, conflict studies, diplomatic history and diplomatic theory and practice. A strong emphasis is placed on European Union issues, yet the program includes a variety of courses on comparative politics and international relations in other parts of the world. Graduates from BA programs in political science, international relations, sociology, history, law, economy, public policy, and public administration and other social sciences and humanities qualify for admission; the students from other programs of study are also welcome to contact the school for additional information about admissions.

John H. Carey School of Law

The John H. Carey II School of Law at Anglo-American University provides students with the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability to enter the legal job market immediately as productive professionals. In addition, it provides its graduates with a firm and solid legal foundation that they can build upon through graduate studies before entering the job market as full-fledged lawyers or executives in other fields of endeavor.

The Law program emphasizes equally the fundamentals of Civil law and Anglo-American law based on common law principles. This is more than simply an interesting pedagogical exercise; it is a very practical approach to the study of law in Europe today, where a partial blending of the two systems is currently taking place and an understanding of both the common law and the civil law is increasingly important. International business, in particular, requires an understanding of both systems of law, as does the European Union law.

Students will be awarded a British degree by the University of Wales.
