The College of Dunaújváros is located in the centre of Hungary playing a leading role in the higher education of its region. Our College has a student population of approximately five thousand students, including the continuously expanding international student community. The College offers bachelor, master and summer school programs in a large variety of disciplines that range from media and business to engineering studies.
The College of Dunaújváros aims to provide its students with a competitive, practice-oriented education and focused skills needed for building their careers when entering the job market. As a university of applied sciences CoD greatly values up-to-date skills and applied research. International and national links and partnerships with businesses and other higher education institutions form an essential and integral part of our teaching and research activities.
Our Campus is a complex of modern classrooms, lecture halls, a public library, professional laboratories, sport and leisure facilities and newly renovated student hostels. The location of our Campus is ideal for our students and staff: it is close to the city centre and its buildings are just a few minutes walk from each other. We offer various services to our students for free or for minimal pay that range from student counselling, career planning and language training to sports and student clubs.

Dunaújváros, one of the youngest and the most dynamically developing towns in Hungary, is suited on the right bank of the river Danube, in the heart of the country, just 70 kms south from the capital, Budapest. The modern town of Dunaújváros was born as the result of a grandiose socialist investment project and has only a five decades, or two generations history to look back on.
When in 1949 the decision was made that the new metallurgic complex would be built here, the perhaps-unconscious choice fell upon an area that had been inhabited for millennia.
The spatial functions necessary to the functioning of the "created town" were designed and established in terms of "housing and institutional planning units". The majority of flats are in concrete panel blocks built in the past thirty years, but in the Old City family homes and some old peasant homes from the turn of the century have also remained.
The townscape of Dunaújváros is characterised by parks with lots of flowers and shady promenades. The different quarters of the town are separated from each other and from the industrial zone by stretches of green and a protective forest belt. The flora of the high river bank is of environmental value.
The town also offers high-level services (restaurants, cafés, cocktail-bars, billiard-halls), as well as entertainment and cultural programmes (cinema, theatre, museums). There are no large shopping malls yet, but the first wave of the "multinationals" has already reached the town (TESCO, Food Discount Stores, McDonald's, etc.).
Dunaújváros is a town of county rank, an administrative centre, which together with the surrounding settlements has a population of nearly 100 thousand people. The town is also called "the sport town of the nation" as it has various sport facilities, as well as professional and amateur sport clubs.
Besides the Intercisa Museum, The Bartok Chamber Theatre Dance Theatre and House of Arts (hosting also the Dance Theatre of Dunaújváros), the Institute of Contemporary Arts and the unique open-air Steel Statue Park on the Danube river bank, cultured leisure time activities are also assured by libraries, cultural centres, art galleries, a movie centre and various places of entertainment.
The "sport town of the nation" offers various sport facilities not only to the leading teams of Dunaferr.
An ice rink, a sport swimming pool, a sport airport, indoor and outdoor sports fields suitable for athletics and ball games, forest gymnastics track field and the Danube harbour are awaiting those who love challenge and healthy lifestyle. The 50-year-old town is characterized by cheerful and intimate student life.
Dunaújváros can be reached by rail and motorway. Our sports airport is used by private planes. The capital city of Budapest is only 40-50 minutes far away. There is a regular bus service with coaches running there and back every 20 minute.
