The Estonian Information Technology College is the leading IT institution of applied higher education in Estonia. What makes the IT College special is its academic staff that are all professionals in the field – a third of all of the lecturers come from IT firms and company or state IT departments.
The strengths of Estonian IT College are based on years of educational and development work using our network of highly educated and experienced specialists of Estonian ICT industry, third sector and academic world.
To provide well balanced knowledge based teaching and practice oriented training, IT College works very closely together with both founder universities as well as with ICT industry in Estonia. Good neighbors of Estonian IT College are Tallinn University of Technology and Tallinn Technology Park Tehnopol. The education in IT College is enriched through international cooperation and networking with more than twenty higher educational partners in different European countries.

The College`s mission is to offer the best applied IT education in the region, bringing together high-tech know-how and the practical needs of the information society, while being the axis of its development.
Estonian IT College is a private non-profit higher educational institution (UAS – University of Applied Sciences), established in 2000 and owned by the Estonian Information Technology Foundation (EITF). Founders of EITF demonstrate unique public-private partnership in country – they are: state, represented by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, two largest Estonian universities – Tallinn University of Technology and Tartu University, and private sector, represented by Estonian Telecom and Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

Admission requirements
The prerequisite for admission is secondary education acquired in Estonia or a corresponding level of education acquired in a foreign state. Recognition of an education certificate issued abroad is decided by the Admissions Committee based on the statement and recommendations by the Estonian ENIC/NARIC Centre (Academic Recognition Information Centre).
Ranking criteria
Estonian state examination in English language – 66 points (1997 – 2013), 75 – 100% (2014 – 2016);
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – 550/213/79 points;
IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) – 6,5 points;
PET (Preliminary English Test);
FCE (First Certificate in English);
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English);
CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).
Admission documents
The required documents can be entered to the admission information system (scanned versions) during admission period. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English/Estonian. Often you can receive a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
It is required that you send verified copies of the entry qualification documents directly to the IT College by postal mail. NB! Never send original documents by post!
The Admissions Committee may interview a student candidate via Skype.
Study loads at IT College
Full-time study: the student meets the requirements of at least 75 % of the extent of the curriculum by the end of each academic year.
Part-time study: the student meets the requirements of 50% to 75% of the extent of the curriculum by the end of each academic year.

Learning Environment
The IT College is well equipped with the latest educational technology and boasts the most impressive ratio of students to computers of any Estonian college. The College has around 150 computers at students’ disposal , each with a permanent Internet connection (at a rate of up to 1 Gbit/s) and a wide array of additional equipment and accessories. The IT College is fully covered with WiFi. The College runs practical classes in its excellent range of laboratories, which include a Cisco network technology laboratory, a Siemens VoIP technology telecommunications laboratory and a microcontroller laboratory fitted with both 8- and 32-bit microcontrollers with models from Liewenthal Electronics and ARM. The College’s laboratories are home to a Student Robotics Club, which have won first prizes during 10 years at the Robotex Open (www.robotex.ee). The College’s students are tutoring pupils from various schools of Tallinn on robot construction/robotics.

The Microsoft MSDN Academic Alliance programme provides the students with a free access to all Microsoft development software such as Windows XP/Vista and Visual Studio.NET, while the Oracle Academic Initiative programme offers them a free use of Oracle database software. Besides that, the College has been issued with Sybase and SPSS professional software operating licences. The College also has its own specialist library.
Class
The co-operation with Cisco Systems, Microsoft and Oracle involves the international certification programmes Cisco Network Academy (CCNA, CCNP and CCNA security), Microsoft IT Academy and MSDN AA and Oracle Academic Initiative. The IT College is a Cisco Regional Network Academy for Estonia teaching students the basics in networking.
