The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is known for its excellence in research and quality in teaching, and is a reference centre in Europe. The main campus is located in Bellaterra, only 25 minutes in public transport from Barcelona’s city centre. The university is placed in an area of outstanding natural beauty: 263 Hectares of campus surface area with 70% covered in woodlands and green areas.
The UAB caters to all aspects of universitylife. The campus is organised as a true city, it contains all the necessary services for the university community: residence halls, specialised libraries, language learning centre, sport facilities, healthcare centre, restaurants, stores and cafés.

We facilitate participation in mobility programmes and works to attract students from abroad (3,546 international mobility students). Its most important projects are Erasmus Mundus, Comenius, Leonardo Da Vinci and Erasmus K2. It also has specific programmes which welcome and aid international students once they arrive at the UAB. Under the Erasmus programme alone, the UAB has 1,308 bilateral agreements with more than 500 universities in Europe.

Barcelona also is home to the Sónar Music Festival which takes place around June every year, and to the Barcelona and Catalonia National Symphonic Orchestra (Orquestra Simf?nica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, usually known as OBC) is the largest symphonic orchestra in Catalonia.
